Abstract
This review paper describes the different species of earthworm gut microflora. Laboratory cultures and experiments were carried out to investigate the fate of bacteria during and after passage through the intestinal tract of detritivore earthworms. The gut of many earthworm species contains a complex and mutualistic microbial community that usually assist the earthworms with digestion and vermicompost. Finally this review discussed the earthworm gut microorganisms.
