Abstract
Introduction: In recent years the practice of cesarean section has been highly increased. Along with the increased incidents of cesarean section, the use of anesthetics during and after the cesarean section procedure has also increased to large extent. Due to various limitations for carrying out research studies in pediatrics, geriatrics, neonates and pregnant women, the evidence on the safety and efficacy of anesthetics have not been evolved in obstetrics and gynecology cases in large cases of medication. Materials and Methods: The study was designed to be a prospective study with a study population of about 24 patients in each group. Total population concluded with 72 patients. The study was carried out in RVS Multi-Specialty Hospitals, RVS Nagar, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, India. All the materials required for the study were collected from the obstetrics and gynecology department of the same hospital of study. Results and Discussion: one in fentanyl, sufentanil 5.0 µg, and placebo in overall study population. Antiemetics intraoperatively was observed in fentanyl, sufentanil 2.5 µg, sufentanil 5.0 µg, and it was reported with incidence in 6 patients treated with placebo. Antipruritic agents postoperatively required in zero cases of fentanyl group, and placebo group and one case in sufentanil 2.5 µg, and 11 cases were identified for indication in sufentanil administered at a dose of 5 µg. All the data was represented in table 1.Conclusion:It can be concluded from the study that indication for antipruritic agents postoperatively was reported in about 11 cases of sufentanil 5 µg, antiemetics intraoperatively was indicated in 6 cases of placebo group
