Abstract
Hirschprung’s disease is a congenital disorder characterized by the absence of myenteric and meissner plexuses in the distal colon. It should be considered in a new born who has failed to pass mechonium within 24-48 hours.Accurate diagnosis is a key element for further treatment. Rectal suction biopsy along with H & E staining and acetylcholinesterase and calretenin histochemistry offers a high diagnostic accuracy.
